A Simple Summer Skincare Routine You Can Follow Daily
When I think of summer, I picture warm, sunny days, vacations, beaches, and, of course, sunscreen! But, I also think of the not-so-cute side of summer: dehydration, sweat, sticky skin, blemishes and extra oiliness (uh! 🥵). That is why I wanted to share the skincare products I have been using on repeat to stay fresh, hydrated and protected all season long.
Sunscreen: My Non-Negotiable

I'll be honest, there was a time when I didn't believe sunscreen worked on dark skin. A time when I was one of the doubting Thomases who didn't believe in the effectiveness and usefulness of sunscreen, until I learned the hard way. Now, SPF 30 and above is a daily must. I alternate between Black Girl Sunscreen and Skinceuticals Oil Shield UV Defence Sunscreen for my face.
CLEANSER: Keeping it Fresh

Summer heat means more sweat, clogged pores and the need to wash my face more often, so proper cleansing is essential. I reach for a gentle cleanser like the Elta MD Gentle Foaming Cleanser twice a day, or sometimes thrice, when the weather is really hot. It's perfect for keeping my face clean without irritating it.
MOISTURIZE

With all the heat and sun exposure, hydration becomes very important. So, apart from staying hydrated by drinking fluids, I use a lightweight moisturiser or a face mist to keep my skin refreshed. For that, I reach for the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore cream on my face, which keeps my skin moisturised without feeling heavy. It complements my SPF perfectly and leaves my skin soft and refreshed.
Summer skincare doesn't have to be complicated. Staying consistent with a simple, hydrating summer skincare routine makes a huge difference, especially with the sun, heat, and humidity.
With the right combination of sun protection, gentle cleansing, and lightweight hydration, you can keep your skin glowing, comfortable, and healthy all season long. These products have helped me enjoy the warmth without the discomfort, and hopefully, they'll make your summer routine just as effortless and enjoyable.
If you've tried any of these or have your own summer staples, I'd love to hear about them!
